I don't usually sleep well at hotels, but the bed was so comfy that I slept all night long. My room was clean and in good repair. Every staff person I encountered was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping to the wonderful lady serving breakfast.
The service was amazing, the workers were courteous without being obtrusive. The public areas are immaculate and there is a gorgeous water wall. The location is convenient to many areas of Amarillo, but still not around terrible traffic.
The front desk was very nice and accommodating but the facility was lacking. They were very friendly but the bottom line was that we were not happy with the mattress(es) nor the low toilet(s). The breakfast was good especially if you like Texas-shaped Belgian waffles! I am sure that having had both knees replaced 3 months ago, made it more difficult for me. Nevertheless, the mattresses (even in the room they allowed us to switch to) were not comfortable to either me nor my husband. There must be a lot of others who like to stay here. We all have our needs and our preferences.
I stayed here traveling through to other parts of Texas for one night for business, and it's a nice hotel for an overnight stay! It's a Holiday Inn Express, so consistently comfortable and nice, and this one is convenient to the interstate and the south end of Amarillo. The only caveat about staying here is it's not really close to much else...it's good for traveling through, but not so much to see Amarillo. Definitely would recommend it if you're on your way through though!
Comfy beds. Very nice staff. Only issue is the area around pool gets way too slippery.
