The bath tube is high, so I must be very careful walking out of it. The towers are rather old.
I didn't like it very much, probably because I was holding it in much higher expectation.
The bed was comfortable and my wife and I enjoyed our stay. It was hard to beat for the price and we will likely stay here again in the future.
Had to stay in Amarillo for a week while visiting extended family and thought we would give this place a try.
Finally the refrigerator and microwave were not in the room. When they finally brought in one, the fridge didn't work, smelly, and that was most upsetting.
The AC runs noisy the whole night. My room door is so hard to open, and has a mechanism such that it needs hard slamming to close (room 200) So does other rooms on the same floors; you can hear doors slammed during the nights.
Although older and a tad run down in the hallways, the room itself was kept incredibly clean. It is obvious this hotel invests it's money in keeping the rooms nice over other amenities.
The hotel seemed very busy, but all the staff were handling it well. Rooms were clean, and fresh. Had a bit of trouble with closing the balcony door, but overall quite an enjoyable stay. Would not recommend the breakfast though. While biscuits and gravy may be tasty, they aren't really my thing!
This location has been sold and changed names several times. Appears to be in a constant state of remodel, yet rooms are acceptable at best for a motel. Facilities are lacking appeal, and many occupants are living for weeks or months at a time. Amarillo offers many better places to stay. Shop around before selecting this one.
The hotel is a three stars hotel but it is in no way close to that rate in term of maintenance.
Upon checking in the friendly staff couldn't find my reservation. Once they did & started checking me in a couple of young girls came up to the counter & asked for hot water. The girl working turned & said to Frank (who was checking me in) they need hot water. He then told her & the young girls that there was no hot water they were having plumbing problems. So not only did I ask but the guy behind me waiting to check in also asked "Is there no hot water? We'd like to shower after traveling." Frank then proceeded to say " Not on this side (the east side of the building) but you should on the side I'm putting you on. So we're like oh okay & continue to check in. The room was decent but the beds were hard as rock so it was hard to sleep. At least they had an iron & ironing board in here. I get up in the morning go to shower & not only is there no hot water in the shower there is no water at all in the shower! I'm so angry right now. I had to put this review in before calling the front desk to see what is going to be done about this situation. To be continued...
I immediately checked out the hotel the next day, after they chance the refrigerator. But well... There are plenty of good hotel in the area, for cheaper price even !
