I am not usually one to leave reviews, but if you are considering Crossfit in Amarillo- or in general- I leave this as an open/ honest review of my current experience.
Great gym! Friendly staff, great coaches and athletes.
I dropped in at Ravage Crossfit twice and was warmly welcomed by everyone there. The facility was awesome, the equipment was great. The WOD's were well designed and organized. The best part about this box was the culture here. No matter how old you are or what level of fitness you're in, you're welcomed here. I will gladly drop in at this location any time I come through Amarillo. What a great community and coaches!!!!
Although I had very little experience with Crossfit I decided to try it- I was really impressed as soon as I walked in "the box". The staff and coaches focused on teaching me the importance of form and mobility - not immediately starting under a heavy load. I took a pre-class that really taught me the lifts and movements that were standard for Crossfit and learned the importance of functional movements. The second time I walked in- I was shocked that every person I had met the few days before had actually remembered my name and greeted me with a genuine enthusiasm that I had come.
As a group we stretch and warm up/cool down at every class- something I rarely did before joining. The workouts are completely different each day and as a result I never get bored by the workouts; in fact I get excited at the thought of what challenge we will accomplish today. I am getting stronger and my body is feeling great, I also have a lot of energy throughout the day. It has become wonderfully rewarding, challenging, fun, and I have met a ton of great people!
I started @ Ravage Crossfit in November of this past year. A little skeptical about the program as I had read false/misleading reviews that Crossfit caused all sorts of injuries and solely focused on lifting heavy vs. learning form.
Ravage Crossfit is encouraging for all, and a place where you can actually enjoy getting healthier.
