My sister and I went to Oak Express, to find new furniture, so that we could do a surprise makeover to our father's house. Robert greeted us, as soon as we walked in the door, and let us know that he was there to help us with any questions or purchases. He asked what we were looking for, and then he led us to the appropriate areas, where we could find those items. He and the other staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional. With the exception of one item, everything was clearly priced with a ticket; however, Robert quickly looked up the price for us and put a price tag back on the item. We were impressed with the quality of the furniture and accessories that we found, and we found a few things that we needed, still in great condition, in the clearance section. The BEST part of all was the financing terms! We were able to get three years, with no interest, to pay everything off, which was exactly what we needed, to be able to purchase a house full of furniture, with low monthly payments. With terms like that, there is no room for buyer's remorse! :) We will continue to go there for our future furniture needs--and to use our Furniture Row Rewards points! Without hesitation, we recommend Oak Express and Furniture Row to other prospective buyers.
It's not a bad place, but you've got to be skeptical about their promises on the construction of their furniture. I bought a bedroom suite many years back, and the salesperson said it was solid Oak. I tried to refinish the top of the night stand recently after some water damage. While sanding, I quickly discovered it was actually particleboard with a very thin veneer of oak on top. Needless to say, the piece is now ruined.
More concerning, I talked to the manager about this. While she was sort of sympathetic, the only thing she was willing to do to make it right was sell me another night stand at full price. Very disappointing that they wouldn't stand behind their earlier promises and at take some small measure to make this right.
