I've known Dr Winston for years. Even before he had his private practice. He is one of the few Dr's left who takes the time to actually know his patients and care for them in the best way possible. His bedside manner is impeccable and my family and I will never go to another Dr as long as we can see him. I can't say enough about him he is a great Dr.
Staff was rude and inconsiderate. Long story short I am finding a new primary doctor.. dr Winston is very nice and a great doctor but putting up with his staff to see him is not worth it. I hate him not being my doctor anymore he is an awsome doctor. I talked with dr Winston about this but he stands by his staff even though he wasn't in the room when they were acting out of line. mabey I'll come back in a couple years after he gets more complaints on his staff an gets newer an nicer staff.
I contacted this office after hearing mixed reviews. I wanted to give the Dr who I heard was great the benefit of the doubt over the office who I had heard was problematic. As I was trying get an appointment as a new patient I was told I had to apply. Yes they were taking patients but it was up to the Office Manager and there was no explanation on their criteria. The whole situation was very shady. I declined to be involved and hung up. If you are looking for medical care and have good insurance go elsewhere.
The doctor was fine but do to how rude and unhelpful his nurse and financial lady were I will not be going back, they have no patient service manners.
Regarding young Mr. Goodson’s review of Dr. Winston, there are two sides to every story. I happened to be in the lobby on this same day waiting to see Dr. Winston when this person made a huge scene. He claims the staff was rude but what I heard was they asked him to pay for his appointment. He started screaming – literally – that he hadn’t seen the doctor yet so why did he have to pay for his appointment first. The staff was very calm even in the face of this behavior and tried to explain the policy but he kept yelling and demanding the doctor stop seeing patients to come out and explain to him why he had to pay first. Uh, hello? What doctor’s office doesn’t require payment before seeing the doctor? (I suppose he thinks he should pay to see a movie only after he’s seen it, too?) The only thing I believe Dr. Winston’s office staff did wrong was they didn’t kick him out and call the police. I do agree with him, however, that Dr. Winston is a great doctor.
