I asked her how much an office visit would be, thinking that I could submit paperwork myself to my insurance carrier, so that any payments made would go to my deductible. The lady informed me that the office visit was $130, but that she "had to ask if it was ok" for me to be seen as a self-pay patient. I politely thanked her but told her not to bother, and left. I won't be returning.
I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance, providing my insurance information at the time. When I arrived the day of my appointment, I passed the provider and one of his employees at the front door. They looked me in the eyes, so I smiled and said hello. I was ignored. I reached receptionist desk. She said hello and asked me for my name. She then informed me that I needed a referral from my pcm to be seen. The office had not called to verify my plan, because if they had they would've known that my plan does not require a pcm referral for anything.
