Also, in one of my visits, they had no sweet tea. The containers marked "sweet tea" were all unsweetened tea. And the containers marked "unsweetened tea" were also unsweetened tea. That irritated me a lot.
But, the food it good, so I'll continue to come by here when I'm in town for business.
Where I ding this location is in the take out option. Ordering food "to go" is not a problem and they always get the order right for me. However, when you come into the restaurant, there's never anyone at the front checkout. There's a big sign saying that this is the place to come for to go orders, but there's no one there. I always have to flag down someone busing tables to help me. That makes no sense.
My mother in law ordered chicken sandwich. It took longer than the 3 burgers and a strip dinner and they still got her order wrong (as if they didn't read her order) and her chicken was raw!! She ate 1/4 before realizing it. When we took it to the counter after finding it the staff in the back were rude and very disrespectful. After eating there for many times this is the worst experience we have ever had....she will never come back.
Update: May 1, 2017 - They've improved the takeout process. Now, one goes to the bar to get one's order. You pay there, and the bartender gives you the containers to get your toppings. MUCH improved!
This place used to be packed. I assume it is because it was a "fresh" place to eat. Now it's been somewhat dead. It's in the old Famous Dave's restaurant. The staff is pretty nice, except I've never had a friendly face at the register. The food is always stocked fresh on the salad bar, and the cheese dips are a nice change. The burgers are usually under cooked, so order it a little bit more done than you normally would. They are still good and you can get whatever you want on them for $2.00 more. Give it a try.
Even after flagging someone down, the whole process is awkward. I have no problems getting my own toppings 'cause that's Fuddruckers gimmick. Further, it allows me to get all the onions and tomatoes I want. But there's this whole weird bit where maybe I should go to the area to grab my burger, but then they need to package it up and put it in a bag. It just needs a smoother process in my opinion.
I have certainly never been disappointed. I have eatin most of their menu. The service is always great. The food is wonderful. Not usually a long wait to get in.
Great burger joint! The side bar for veggies is wonderful. The prices are a little high but worth it.
Food at the Amarillo Fuddruckers is quite good. Every time I'm in town, I stop by and the food is always great. So five stars there.
