Good prices for sod
I purchased Bermuda sod from the King Ranch Amarillo store twice. Spent over $1100 on the sod. The sod was very weedy, a lot of grass burrs and binding vine weed. Also, the second batch may have had ticks. I have never in my life had ticks in my yard or anywhere. The only place I can think of where they came from is the Sod. About a week after the 2nd load was delivered I had ticks. I sprayed and got rid of them but still it was a hassle. The sod was very lop-side one side would be thick and pretty, then on the other edge was barely any dirt or no dirt (about 70% of the second load was this way) so needless to say my yard has lots of low spots. My main complaint though is after the 1st load I called and asked them how to get rid of the vine week and grass burrs. I was told by THEM to put a pre-emergent down and fertilizer on the 1st batch which was about 3 weeks old. THEY also said to do this in 1 week on the 2nd batch. So, I put it on the 1st batch, but never did on the 2nd batch. Well it burnt it, turned it yellow, now some of it is dying. I emailed them 3 times with no response. I then wrote them a letter and attached all of my emails. Still no response. I know on the grass after it is signed for there is no guarantee so as for as the weeds and possible ticks there is nothing that can be done. BUT, THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY TELL PEOPLE TO PUT ON THEIR GRASS AND WHAT IT MIGHT DO TO IT. What is the most disappointing is they NEVER acknowledged my emails or letter. I also put pictures in the email. I used the very same email THEY gave me to send them pictures of the weeds. After buying this sod my yard has LARGE amounts of sticker weeds, binding vine (which when I called them I was told it was a vine that is common in bermuda grass and the grass would choke it out. I have started at least 6 yards from scratch and NEVER saw this vine before, come to find out it is a binding vine THAT WILL NOT BE CHOKED OUT). Since putting down their sod I have had ticks, slugs/snails, and crabgrass. My lawn is very uneven because the rolls of sod were so uneven (one edge would have no dirt and deadish, the other side would be 2 inches thick). DO NOT expect a beautiful lawn just because you lay their sod, it will take lots of weed pulling and insect spray. Do NOT expect any support from them EVEN if they give you wrong information. I even tried to reach out to the Benbrook location with no response.

Not good experience buying stuff from them. The person I talked to on the phone was not friendly and a bit abrasive. Ill take my business somewhere else.
