Really I would just consider this a museum. The prices were 5 times higher than the other stores on the same block and this store had an unfriendly atmosphere.
What a great place to lose yourself in the past. The cashier (I apologize for not catching her name) was AMAZING! She had lots of local historical information. Which is very interesting to us new folks in town. She also chatted with my 12 year old about old school and new school things. And she dressed like a pinup girl. What a great experience! Definitely taking our visitors that come to town!
This was our first time there. After going in I was impressed with the amount of items on display. Then I start looking at the prices, (WOW) everything was 4-5 time what it was worth, I mean everything. My wife and I travel around the central US antiquing a lot, and like most people we like a bargain, and don't mind paying retail for something or even a little more if we want it. But this was stupid. Plus the staff was not very helpful.
I was happy to find a small native american baby doll. The front vendor woman was upset that I asked her to please wrap my antique doll in tissue paper. She answered back to me that she WAS going to wrap them and continued to roll her eyes and shake her head. I asked if i upset her and she smiled quietly. -Laredo Texas
