Perfect rental experience at Sun Adventure Sports. My friend and I drove 4 hours from Wichita Falls to get some mountain bike action in Palo Duro Canyon, and called ahead to ask if they had rentals available, which they had in multiple configurations. My friend ended up renting the orange bike you see on the picture, a 27.5” Kona full suspension for 45$ for a full day. Bike was great all day, no problems at all.
At bike shops you can choose 2 of 3 from: speed, quality, reasonable price. Here you can have all 3!
Declined to provide a reason they would not rent for the local pub crawl event, just stated owners told them not to. I have been shopping around for a bike recently, and was eager to check this place out later for my purchase, I then considered renting 3 bikes to take to one of the local trails, but considering their stance and lack of any explanation they would not rent their bikes for anything but trails, even though they can be ridden on the roads, I've decided they don't deserve my business at this time. The employee I spoke to was pleasant though.
I've bought a bike there and had another bike serviced there multiple times over the past few years. I usually buy accessories and nutrition goods there at least once per month during biking season. I'm always impressed with the knowledge and customer service. The value is fair. They are a little more cramped in space since they split (for the good) from Hastings when that ship was sinking; however, Nugget and his staff are always as good as ever. If you don't know something, ask them, and they will be extremely helpful.
I went in two weeks ago not intending to purchase a bike even though I've been thinking about it for a few years. I bought a great bike for an amazing price. They were super friendly and knowledgeable and were able to steer me in the right direction. I just had some service done on the bike after a good ride and they had me fixed up in no time. Just as friendly and knowledgeable for a $10 tube as they were selling me my $800 bike. I highly recommend this bike shop to anyone.
